Links

Here are a few general links including some for the resources that I used to create this home page.

  • Just Java Design: they have several different types of java applet navigation buttons that are available free for non-commercial use.
  • Homesite: one of the best text based html editors around, unfortunately it was bought out by Allaire and the price has doubled to around $80 but it is still a very good editor and has won and continues to win many awards.
  • Geocities: you can get your own free home page here (up to 3M of disc space) and it has several tools to help you make a home page with a minimal amount of effort.
  • To learn more about MP3 try Dimension Music, he is having quite a bit of trouble with his server so if that link doesn't work then try Blex's page (unfortunately Blex uses some foul language but he is funny and has very up to date links).
  • Free internet based email. Internet based email has several advantages: it is free, you don't need to tell people a new email address every time that you change ISP's or move, you can access your email from anywhere in the world as long as you can get access to a computer connected to the internet. Here are two of my favorites.
    • Netaddress: this is becoming my favorite free internet based email. The reason that I like this one more is because you can configure it so that you use your normal email client (like Netscape mail, Eudora, etc.) and the only time that you need access to the homepage is when you connect in to download your email off of the server. This is handy so that you don't have to spend a lot of time navigating on the web and waiting for slow servers to retrieve and display your email. The only problem that I have found with Netaddress is that sometimes it takes a long time for your mail to get to you.
    • Hotmail: this used to be my primary source for email but I have gotten tired of waiting for pages to download and having to hit reload several times just to find out that I don't have any email which is why I am now using Netaddress. This is a very good email service though and it has the best features.

This area will contain some links to other Jazz information on the internet

  • Jazz Central Station is a fairly nice site, and once you get used to their navigation it is very handy. It is like an online magazine and there is quite a bit of information and lots articles.
  • There will be a bunch more on the way but I need to find them first and don't have all of the time in the world to do it.
